Chai Maca Porridge


I did warn you that they'll be a long line of porridge recipes coming your way! This one I created this morning and loved it so much, I just had to share. Creamy, malty maca oats with warming chai masala spiced and sweet grilled bananas and figs. Delicious. 


Ingredient - serves one


Porridge -


50g quinoa flakes

200ml almond milk

a pinch of salt

a pinch of pepper

a pinch of cloves

0.12 tsp ground cinnamon

0.12 tso ground cardamom

0.12 tsp ground ginger

0.12 tsp fennel seeds

1 tsp maca

1.5 tsp maple syrup


Toppings -


1 banana, halved widthways and lengthways

1 fig, quartered

1 tbsp almond butter

1 tbsp toasted coconut flakes

1 piece of dark chocolate, chopped




Preheat the grill to high and line with foil. Place the banana quarters and fig quarters face up on the grill.

Grill until golden.

Meanwhile, pour the porridge ingredients into a small pan and stir over a low heat until thickened.

Pour into a bowl.

ile the grilled banana ontop of the porridge, slightly to one side and then arrange the grilled figs down one edge of the bowl.

ollop the almond butter in alongside and scatter over the coconut and chocolate.
